postheadericon Martha Hayhurst Inspiring Women Interview

Inspiring Women teleconference with Martha Hayhurst, who contributed to our Inspiring Women book. Martha knows what it takes to be a successful woman in the business world. Having spent the better part of her 25 year career in the trenches as a sales professional, executive, and ultimately as President of Harry Norman Realtors, a subsidiary of Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway company HomeServices of America.

When the real estate market began to crumble (circa 2007), HNR corporate parent sought ways to offset declining revenues by streaming operations. Consequently Martha consolidated two organizations, the vibrant Harry Norman Realtors and its much smaller corporate sibling, Jenny Pruitt and Associates.

Understanding its fears, reluctance toward change, and concerns about HNR’s long term viability in the face of a deteriorating market, she brought order to chaos, refocused and motivated the staff, and created a cohesive, collaborative, and results-driven culture complimented by strong, capable and highly competent leadership.

Having stepped down from her role as HNR’s President in 2010, Martha currently consults and coaches several companies and individuals on strategic planning, growth issues, leadership development, performance management, and Emotional Intelligence.

"I just finished reading Inspiring Women and can only say WOW. It was both inspiring and joyful to read. You have captured THE critical leadership trait in a clear and relatable fashion…self awareness. The fact that it is also the key to personal growth in life is an extra windfall. Your style steps out of the mold to help the reader out of her/his habit patterns. It is artistic and playful in a way that provides depth and breadth to its purpose. Thad’s artwork is quite exceptional and his passion oozes out from each piece. Your book was a real gift to read and I am grateful for the contribution it brings to my own growth."
