Martha Forlines has served clients at all levels of organizations from within corporations and as a consultant and coach. As a former V.P. Human Resources and Communications, her human resource skills and knowledge base are diverse and include organizational strategy and development, mergers and acquisitions, crisis management, employee/labor relations, employment and labor law compliance and executive coaching. Upon leaving her corporate role in 2006, she decided to serve clients from the “outside” and focus on the things that she is most passionate about in organizational development and helping leaders and their teams get better results, be more successful and happy at work.
She joined Thad Green in his leader consulting business, Belief System Institute in 2007, which specializes in helping leaders find solutions to employee motivation and engagement issues that negatively affect performance. Martha has always been a student of human behavior, and received her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Guilford College in Greensboro, N. C. She likes using a multi-disciplinary approach with her clients, using behavior style tools, Green’s own theory of motivation and engagement and appreciative inquiry to connect the dots quickly across organizations. The employees are involved in identifying causes and solutions to the very issues causing engagement and performance problems, then discussed with their manager.
One commitment Martha made when she decided to be an entrepreneur was to have a focus of the practice to be helping women in business to find their purpose and achieve that. She and her business partner have recently co-authored a book, Inspiring Women…BECOMING Courageous, Wise Leaders which addresses women having the courage to make a difference, understanding the three keys to wisdom and developing the confidence for extraordinary leadership. She works with women in individual coaching as well as group coaching. Martha is currently working with two non-profit women’s organizations, Women in Technology and Healthcare Business Women’s Association as a mentor/advisor to aspiring women leaders.
